C.J. Archer’s “The Medium”

Welcome to this week’s book review. I hope you enjoyed the poetry post on Tuesday. A new post should be up on this upcoming Tuesday. Onto this week’s book review.

There are several things I love about this book. First is the historical aspect with the fascinating bits and pieces woven throughout the narrative. I enjoy the fact the main character is biracial at time when it wasn’t accepted. In addition the class system is fully in play in this book. Thematic questions in the story are engaging. A few of the questions: What happens after we die? Can people find life or love or both? An additional complication is brought up—secrets. Secrets of the ghost and the main character’s older sister hint at trouble to come, not to mention how the ghost died. This is fun read and I would recommend it to reader who like first-person point of view.

Ms. Archer writes historical fantasy romance and historical romance genres. She has multiple series to enjoy. She can be found on her website here: http://cjarcher.com/ or Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/C.J.-Archer/e/B004LLEHN0 or Kobo here: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/search?query=C.J.%20Archer&fcsearchfield=Author or iBooks here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/c.j.-archer

If you get this free ebook please remember to rate and review. Next week’s book is J.J. DiBenedetto’s “Dream Student”. I think I will enjoy this one too with the concept of people being connected through their dreams while trying to solve a murder mystery. See you next week!
